Join students from across ASU and gain insight into the myriad of career paths afforded by advertising and its adjacent industries. Tap into intelligence from a wide range of organizations, speakers, and innovators. The Cannes Lions in the Desert Expo + Experience offers workshops, interactive discussions, and demonstrations.

A Real Brief
LIONS IN THE DESERT CHALLENGE
Because it's hard to imagine a career in any industry without firsthand experience – you will engage in a hands-on “real world” challenge given by a brand that has received national recognition. Representatives from the Cannes Lions School will moderate and jury the competition along with agency professionals. This is an opportunity for you to explore an industry and career you might not have thought about pursuing.
Learn to answer a creative brief in a fast-paced, competitive environment, working in a team of students from across ASU, and in just 24 hours.
MONDAY, OCTOBER 14

Experience, day 1
Cannes Lions opens. Next, Cannes Lions Grand Prix Winners present on what it takes to make creative, effective, and award-winning work. This morning’s event showcases how and why it takes a very diverse group of people and skillsets to build successful work. Monday you'll be presented a real-time “live” challenge from a brand and placed into cross-disciplinary teams to create winning ideas. This challenge is guided by the Cannes Young Lions Competition leadership who conduct similar events each year.



TUESDAY, OCTOBER 15

MORNING + EARLY AFTERNOON
The day opens with a keynote address offering guidance, tips and encouragement from agency experts. Your team will then be off to dive in.
In the afternoon your team will present to the a jury of industry professionals. The four best teams will be shortlisted to compete in the final round.
LATE AFTERNOON + EVENING
In the evening we'll hear from Cannes Lions leadership on what it takes to create award winning work. Our keynote will give a unique and eyeopening perspective on the future of brand building. Four finalist teams will compete for the Lions in the Desert award.
THE CAREER EXPO: Students network with creative firms and brands. Open to all students – freshman to graduate.
